Abstract

It was necessary to monitor the local , regional and international variables occurred during the ten years following the issuance  of SADS 2030 sustainable for livestock and the extent of the impact of those variables on the programs and plans in the strategy accordingly , the proposals to amend those plans and programs to achieve the objectives of livestock development , that support the achievement of its goals and the expected results.
The per capita consumption of animal protein in Egypt is estimated as 26 grams / day (in 2018)( compared to 36 grams /day recommended  by the international organisations) ,which confirms the importance of exerting more effort to develop the sector to meet the growing needs of the population and reduce dependence on imports .
In brief , the study confirms the possibility to achieve an increase in per capita consumption of animal protein by at least 4 grams per day by year 2030 despite  the steady population increase , in case of the implementation of the proposed programs and operational plans referred to in the  study  for the development of livestok,  poultry and fishery.
